We’re excited to announce that Kailey Junkman has joined our team as an Art Director, with a knack for visual problem solving and excellent graphic design skills she can create stunning executions whether they are one-offs or the full campaign.
We’re excited to welcome her to our team and share more about her background in the Q&A below:
Q: What’s your professional background?
A: I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from the University of the Incarnate Word. With over four and a half years of advertising agency experience, I’ve worked with both business-to-business and business-to-consumer clients. Throughout my career thus far, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients in different industries from industrial, health care, nonprofit, financial and restaurant, which always keeps it interesting.
Q: What is your work passion?
A: What I love most is being a visual problem solver by taking an idea and then creating something that has a unique message, influences and resonates with the audience and ultimately helps our clients succeed.
Q: What motivates [or inspires] you?
A: It’s inspiring to see women, like Marketwave President and CEO, Tina Young, with a family and run a company. Women who can juggle and prioritize both a leadership position and their family life in their own way motivates me to achieve that in my career.
Q: Who (or what) has inspired you to become the professional you are?
A: Currently, former/current coworkers, who have become my friends, inspire me. I see the skills and talents they bring to work every day, plus, I know their personal interests and hobbies related to their skillset. Overall, knowing their personal and professional interests and seeing where they want to go inspires me and challenges me to think about where I want to go and how I will get there. What bar are my coworkers setting and how will I meet or improve to exceed that level?
Q: What do you like to do for fun in your spare time?
A: Outside of work you can find me spending time with my family, including playing with or running after (depending on the moment) my two-year old son, Jase. My husband and I love living in the Big D, we enjoy foodie adventures in the diverse restaurant scene and cheering on our favorite teams at sporting events around D-FW. I’m always sure to make time for friends through lunches and play dates, and I donate my graphic design talents to the Mother’s Ministry at my church.
Q: Since you started at Marketwave in April, what has been your favorite project you’ve worked on so far?
A: WiNGS Dallas Promise Campaign has been my favorite, because as the company is a nonprofit trying to get corporate donors to donate to their campaign, we had the opportunity to stretch their creative bounds. I got to use a new creative technique I’ve never used before, which was a fun learning experience, and the finished product came out great. Plus they were so grateful for our work, it was a very rewarding project.
