SEO tips for your blog

If you’ve ever wondered how to get more eyes on your blog, SEO is the answer. SEO, short for search engine optimization, is the best way to bump up your blog in search engine relevance and lead readers to your page. If you want to attract the followers you’ve always dreamed of, try executing these 5 SEO tips:

1. Determine a keyword or phrase.
Keywords are essential in executing SEO tactics. Come up with a keyword or phrase that best relates to your blog and use it several times throughout your post. It’s best to use the keyword at least twice in the first paragraph.

2. Use an SEO-friendly title.
Make your title easy to search! Include your keyword or phrase in your title and it will not only be easy for readers to find, but will also appear higher up in relevance on search engines.

3. Use images saved with your keyword.
How many times have you used a search engine to find an image you need? Drive traffic back to your blog by saving images that include your keyword or phrase in the filename and caption. When viewers search for and click on the image, they will be directed back to its source – your blog!

4. Keep your word count in the “sweet spot”.
For the best SEO results, keep your posts over 250 words. The blog sweet spot lies between 400-600 words. That’s just the right amount to keep your readers engaged but not overloaded. Plus, search engines favor blogs that fall within this range.

5. Use supporting keywords.
Create at least two supporting keywords or phrases to weave throughout your post. These should support your main keyword or phrase and be used at least two times a piece throughout the post. Search engines will associate your main keyword and supporting keywords which will give you a higher chance to appear at the top of search results.

If you want to boost your blog out of the endless lists of search results, use these tips to get your content the attention it deserves.
