Why I Use Skillshare to Learn More and Create Better

Posted by on August 20, 2015

I’m constantly looking for creative inspiration. Always striving to learn something new. And always up for a challenge. So when a fellow Marketwave employee introduced me to Skillshare, I was excited to find that I could do all those things in one virtual place.

If you’re not already familiar, Skillshare is a “learning community for creators.” After registering for a membership (which costs anywhere from $0 to $10 per month), you can select to view online classes that interest you. Taught by creators across the world, the curriculum ranges in topics such as Photoshop basics, package design and email marketing.

And it’s not just exclusive to marketing and advertising—they’ve got courses related to mixology, photography and more. Having taken a few myself, I can say that they’re easy to follow, comprehensive and completely fun.

So far, my favorite course has been modern calligraphy, where I was guided through the intimidating—but completely fascinating—art of calligraphy. Plus, I’ve also tapped the site’s library of resources to learn new design tricks for projects at Marketwave. Whenever I’m in need of inspiration, I pop over to Skillshare and take a class. That way, the learning never stops.

Whatever your skill level is, or what your hobbies are, I’d suggest that Skillshare has something for everyone. So, what are you waiting for? Go explore your creative side and get started!
