Marketwave won the 2013 Dallas Fort Worth American Marketing Association (DFW AMA) Marketer of the Year Award in the Interactive Media category for the electronic annual report we created for the Baylor Research Institute, at last night’s Marketer of the Year Awards. These awards are designed to recognize excellence in marketing in the DFW area in various marketing categories.
The DFW AMA Marketer of the Year Awards judging panel is comprised of a select group of marketing professionals who are industry experts within each specific award category. The Interactive Media category is awarded for marketing that successfully reached the consumer/client through a digital portal (i.e. website design, email communications, banners and incorporated media).
Shortly after the release of their annual report, Baylor Research Institute (BRI) charged MarketWave with transforming their 75-page, data-heavy print piece into an interactive experience that was equally consumer- and physician-friendly. BRI sought an attractive, engaging digital product that would convey BRI’s innovative impact and contributions to medical research. Marketwave developed a visual-rich platform that digitally communicated BRI’s annual report data. The team ventured away from the traditionally static PDF to an interactive, HTML product designed to live on the website for an extended shelf life. We carefully selected the most compelling visuals from the print piece, and designed it to match the original piece in its look and feel.
The resulting product was overwhelmingly well received by Baylor Research Institute physicians, investigators and staff. We provided both a consumer- and physician-friendly piece that visually told the story of BRI’s impact and contribution, without compromising, adapting or changing the content or look and feel from the original annual report.
