Karen Behrman

VP, Strategic Communications

Karen Behrman recently returned to Marketwave as Vice President, Strategic Communications knowing Marketwave’s fast pace, creative and purpose-driven approach couldn’t keep her away for long. With a passion for brand storytelling and a proven track record of producing high-performing integrated marketing communications strategies for companies, Karen is adept at crafting the right words for the right channel at the right time. Since her very first days at Marketwave, she’s been instrumental in building comprehensive programs backed by data-driven insights and exceptional creative that drive businesses forward and build strong and trusted brands.

Karen has deep expertise across the public relations discipline holding leadership roles at smaller, hyper-growth companies looking to establish their marketing function as well as directing internal and external communications strategies for multi-billion dollar, private and public enterprises. Her greatest skill is building brands working with strategic influencers of all types – developing long-term relationships, high-profile events, and aligned partnerships that result in a strong reputation and powerful endorsements.

Most recently, Karen was director of corporate communications at Socure, a high-flying fintech company with the highest valuation in the identity verification industry, where her work to promote the company’s Series E funding round, key executive appointments, customer growth milestones, analyst coverage, and award wins resulted in top-tier press coverage, speaking engagements and business growth. Karen has held marketing and communications leadership positions with Cricket Wireless, ProFlowers (now FTD) and ID Analytics (now LexisNexis Risk Solutions) prior to her work with Socure.

Karen graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications from San Diego State University and volunteers with her family through the local PTA and other area nonprofits. When she’s not running her next meeting, Karen is running the trails by her Dallas home at a pace she keeps in all areas of her life with her husband Dennis and their three kids. On the weekends, she can be found cheering her son on at a baseball tournament or stressing on the sidelines of one of her daughters’ gymnastics meets, or unwinding with friends over good food and wine.
